The most fascinating thing to me about this post is that I’ve never heard any of these non-facts before reading this.
Thanks for the tip, Corrie! The Watch Duty app was helpful today for figuring out why it smelled smoky! I also used windy.com to confirm the smoke was coming from that direction.
Ha! I’ve been on that track. A friend of mine had a ‘vette he used to bring up, and he was one of the race officials, so I got to ride in a pace car once. They’re really packin’ them in, aren’t they?
Opening the beef bag over the sink reminded me of the first time I was asked to reserve pasta water. I carefully put the colander over the saucepan and strained the liquid into the pot without spilling a drop. After successfully completing the task I turned and dumped the pasta into the trash.
My son and I share a frustration when The Physical Things do not cooperate. I remember one outburst he had when he was probably 6 or 7. I don’t recall what specifically he was frustrated by - a jar cap that wouldn’t go on, or a domino that wouldn’t stand up, maybe. I watched with empathy and parental need to guide as I tried to help him slow down. He yelled at whatever The Physical Thing was, saying “Physics is glitching!”
He’s such a gamer.

Your brother’s stuff is so cool.
I actually prefer your narratives more than the grab-bags, but this one slapped.
The Autoglyphs seem to live in a similar world to my brother’s work on pen plotting: https://www.patreon.com/c/j_cammarata_art/posts?vanity=j_cammarata_art His subscribers get monthly postcards of abstract pen-plotted art, which sometimes involve the recipient in their construction.
Me, too!!
I think they’re great!
Oh yeah, a CD player with wheels!
Nice solo! Thanks for sharing!
How about an amazing flute solo that you’ve never heard unless you’re a flautist.
I’ve since listened to a few more of Peripheral’s DJ sets; they’re good!
Untrue. You own a vehicle that plays cds!
Now then, about Ebi’s parents…the jury’s still out…

Maybe Apple is focusing on some of these issues this year.
I’m so tickled that you liked the phrase “middle airs”! Our mutual friend forwarded this post to me and it put a big smile on my face :)

I’ve been following you for days, Justin. I know who you are. I’ve been painting alongside you. Our day will come.
That’s a lot of cats!
That same milkweed plant has been decimated in 24 hours. There are still a lot of caterpillars on there.
I’m sorry, I was withholding the chopsticks from you at the other end of the table.
Oh yeah, I don’t track anything and don’t plan to. It’s not the point. If you want to read it, that’s not really any of my business.
I took half of my sandwich home. I took all the filling out of it and chopped it all up together and put it back in the sandwich. It was… continue on the post →
We counted over 20 caterpillars this morning. There were 17 on one milkweed alone! How many can you see here?
I got a couple of pictures of these buggers yesterday morning. The big ones are so big! They are about 5 cm (2 inches) long. So big! This small one is so small!… continue on the post →
