Hello club members! We have all collectively made it to yet another Friday. As is my wont, it’s random grab baggy type things, and because it’s been kind of a week, and because nothing else has come to me, I will turn to my open browser tabs and share something that is shareable.

  1. The Colossal article on Sara Flores, who is an artist that makes very beautiful and geometric art. I reminds me a lot of the plotter art that I love. I have several other tabs, including a piece of hers at the de Young. I hope it’s on display.

  2. Nick Carr’s absolutely smashing photos of inside a decommissioned nuclear power plant on Long Island. This is a deep post, with so much deepness in its depths. It’s too deep, tbh. I want more of this. I used to follow his ScoutingNY blog back in the day. Glad to see that Nick is still posting, sometimes.

I do love me some pipes.
  3. The last one is a writeup of making a virtual reel-to-reel tape player. It does play; you can click it and it makes a great clicky sound and it plays the indicated piece. Dunstan Orchard is a designer professionally, and his wife is a field-recordist. It’s just so crisp and sharp, and these old tools are nostalgic and clicky. Fun!

Have a great Fourth of July weekend!
