It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another snapshot grab bag of random stuff. Today’s theme is what I have played, what I am playing, and what I am excited to play next. I don’t play as much as I used to, but a guy can still dream.

If you’ve got some ideas for me, why not send me a comment?

Currently

Abiotic Factor - Currently long playing this one with a friend on Thursday nights. There is a lot of great and nostalgic “WTF video games?” moments and I love it.

Kingdom Come Deliverance (I and II) - I picked it up after watching Any Austin’s tour of uninteresting places. I haven’t made it out of the starting village yet, there is quite a lot of tedium it seems. But it looks like it could be a great hiking simulator!

Completed

Lego Voyagers - I’m glad I played through this one even though it was short. There was so much delight in the puzzles and random things that happen. So silly!

Future

Orbitals (yt1) - Spotted this one a while ago. I’m a sucker for cell shaded sh*t. And it’s co-op too. Probably alternate it with AB2 if it turns out to be that much fun.

CALX (yt) - Just saw this this week. Another one with cell shading, and it looks like an extension of Sable, as others have noted. I hope it’s not janky!

Edith Finch - Recent recommendation. I remember it from when it looked interesting at the time, but I was quite busy with things. I’m always happy to play older games.

-jg:

bandercoot’s YT video on KCD2’s NPCs just makes me want to get through the intro section and learn the controls, or find out if there are any XB mods that I don’t need that.

However, this is one of those videos where the creator edits out the spaces to breath and pauses after sentences. I hate this. The breathlessness of the delivery is exhausting to listen to. Still, I did appreciate their findings.
